The Layout of Turfile
How the app is organized. Turfile is split into sections, one per asset type, with a navigation bar up top, your tools down the left, and a widget panel on the right.
Before you start mapping, it helps to know how Turfile is laid out. The same three regions appear on every screen, so once you learn them here, every section works the way you’d expect.
Turfile is split into sections
Rather than putting everything on one map, Turfile is split into sections, one for each type of asset you manage:
- Home: your course overview, plus anything that doesn’t belong to a specific asset type.
- Irrigation: heads, valves, pipes, and wires.
- Bunkers: every bunker, its condition, and its sand.
- Tree Management: your full tree inventory.
- Drainage: basins, outlets, and drain lines.
- Handbook: course standards and everything else on the property.
Splitting things this way keeps the map readable. You’re only ever looking at one asset type at a time, and each section gives you tools built for that job. Irrigation lets you draw pipe runs; bunkers let you score condition; trees let you track health. Every section uses the same map underneath with a different set of tools on top.
The three parts of the screen
Wherever you are in Turfile, the screen is built the same way:
- The navigation bar across the top, for moving between sections.
- The toolbar down the left, holding the tools for whichever section you’re in.
- The widget panel on the right, for analytics and map layers.
The rest of this guide walks through each one. It takes about two minutes and makes everything after it easier to follow.
This is the web app. The mobile app carries the same sections, just laid out for a phone.
