Docs Area Manager

Tags, colours and preferences

Set up your holes and area types, and give each type its own colour on the map.

Every area carries two tags: a Hole and an Area Type. Holes group the ledger, and area types set the colours on the map: greens one colour, fairways another. Review both before you start mapping so every area is tagged and coloured correctly from the start.

Manage your tags

  1. Click Preferences in the toolbar. You’ll land on the Area tags tab.

  2. Your property starts with holes 1 through 18 (plus Practice Area) and a full set of area types: Green, Tee, Fairway, Rough, Surround, Approach, Bunker, Native Area, Cartpath, Building, and Parking Lot.

  3. Add anything that’s missing with Add value, use the pencil on a value to rename it, and remove any you don’t need.

Colours

Click the colour dot next to an area type to pick from the palette, or click the rainbow circle to choose a custom colour. Every area with that type recolours on the map immediately. Holes can’t be coloured; they group areas rather than colour them.

Good to know

  • The Prescription offset tab is also in Preferences. It calibrates prescription exports for GPS offset in the field; see The prescription offset.
  • Areas without a coloured type show in the default green.
