Roles and permissions

What Owner, Management, Tech Staff, and Staff can each do in Turfile.

Every member has one of four permission levels. The level controls what they can touch; job title is just a label. Choose each person’s level based on the access you trust them with.

The four roles

The quoted one-liners are Turfile’s own, from the Team tab legend.

  • Owner: “Full property and account access.” Everything, including billing, deleting the property, and granting Owner. Every property needs at least one; whoever ran property setup starts as one.
  • Management: “Full suite, unable to manage billing.” Full map editing, team management, deletions. Can’t touch billing, delete the property, or make someone an Owner.
  • Tech Staff: “More tools available, no deletion capabilities.” Map editing, measurement tools, to-dos, bunker inventory. No deleting, no billing, no team management.
  • Staff: “Little to no edit capabilities.” A read-only map, their own profile, their assigned to-dos, and measurement tools.

Changing someone’s role

Owners and Management change roles from the Team tab; see Invite your team. Two rules: “You can’t change your own permissions.” and “Only owners can manage owner permissions.”
