Your bunker setup
What happens the first time an Owner or Manager opens Bunkers on the web, how Turfile walks you through adding your first bunker, and the short tour for everyone after.
The first time you open Bunkers in a desktop web browser as an Owner or Manager, Turfile walks you through adding your first bunker to the map and shows you what you can do with it and with the rest of the toolbar.
Add your first bunker
-
“Let’s Set Up Your Bunkers” Click Start Setup. If you don’t have time now, click Go Back to Home. The setup opens again the next time you open Bunkers.
-
“Add Your First Bunker” highlights Add bunker to map on the left toolbar. Click it.
-
“Two Ways to Add a Bunker” Turfile shows the two ways to add a bunker: Turfile Vision, which finds the bunker’s edge when you click on it, and Draw manually, where you place each point yourself. Click Next and Turfile picks Draw manually for you.
-
“Draw Your Bunker” Click I’m Ready. Move the map to one of your bunkers, then click around its edge to drop points. Double-click to close the shape. You can drag points to adjust the edge, use Undo or Reset, and click Next on the card at the bottom when you’re happy with it. If you click Cancel, the setup goes back to Add bunker to map.
-
Fill in the details. Turfile highlights one field at a time:
- Name: use the name your team already knows the bunker by, like #3 Left front. Click Next.
- Liner type: pick what’s under the sand, or None. Click Next.
- Depth target (min) and Depth target (max): the sand depth range you want to keep, in inches. Click Next.
-
“Save Your Bunker” Click Save bunker. Your bunker is saved to your map.
See your bunker’s panel
“Open Your Bunker” Click Next and Turfile opens the bunker you just drew. Turfile then shows you its panel one part at a time, with the pointer resting on each part. Click Next after each one:
- The panel, where everything about the bunker lives.
- Bunker Score, which sums up the bunker’s condition from its latest readings.
- Condition: sand depth, contamination, edge quality, firmness and weeds. You can click any of them to update it.
- Properties: area, sand volume and sand load, worked out from the shape you drew. Edit properties changes the name, liner, construction date and target depth.
- Inspections, Issues, Logs and History: Turfile opens each tab for you.
After the last part, Turfile closes the panel and moves on to the toolbar.
Tour the toolbar
Turfile opens the left toolbar and goes down the rest of its tools one at a time. Each tool is highlighted, with the pointer resting on it and a card beside it with a short animation. Nothing is opened or changed. Click Next after each one:
-
“Bunker Inventory” Every bunker in one list with its score and next inspection date. See The bunker inventory.
-
“Photo Manager” Every photo added to your bunkers, newest first. See Photo manager.
-
“Issues” Every open issue on your bunkers in one list, in priority order, ready to assign as a to-do. See Issues.
-
“Bunker History” Resolved issues and completed to-dos across all your bunkers, with their notes and photos. See History.
-
“Bunker To-Do’s” Your to-dos and your team’s, grouped by who they’re assigned to. See To-dos.
-
“You’re Ready to Manage Your Bunkers” Click Finish Setup.
To add the rest of your bunkers, see Add a bunker to the map.
If your property already has bunkers
When your property already has bunkers on the map, the next Owners and Managers who open Bunkers get a short tour instead:
-
“Let’s Show You Around” Click Show Me Around, or Go Back to Home to see it next time.
-
“Adding Bunkers” Turfile shows you Add bunker to map on the left toolbar. Click Next.
-
“Open a Bunker” Click any bunker on the map.
-
Turfile shows you the bunker’s panel, as above. Nothing is changed.
-
Turfile tours the toolbar, as in Tour the toolbar. Click Finish Setup at the end.
If you stop partway
- If you reload or close the page before your bunker is saved, the setup starts again from Add bunker to map the next time you open Bunkers.
- If your bunker is already saved, the setup continues by opening it.
- If you reload during the toolbar tour, it starts again from its first tool.
- Once you finish, the setup doesn’t come back.
