The prescription offset

Calibrate your prescription exports so the sprayer hits the right ground, even when GPS disagrees with the map.

GPS equipment can disagree with the map by a few feet. If the sprayed boundaries are consistently offset from where you mapped them, calibrate once and every future export is corrected automatically.

Calibrate on the map

  1. Open Preferences and switch to the Prescription offset tab.

  2. Click Calibrate on the map, then select the area you were spraying when you noticed the offset.

  3. Drag the highlighted copy to cover the ground that was actually sprayed. The dashed outline stays where Turfile has it mapped, and the correction reads out live in feet and degrees.

  4. Click Save offset. Turfile shifts every export the opposite way so the sprayer covers the intended ground.

Managing the offset

  • The Prescription offset tab always shows your current correction in feet and degrees.
  • Click the pencil next to Current offset to type a value in manually.
  • Reset to zero clears it any time.
  • When an offset is active, the export window says so at the top.

Good to know

  • Only calibrate from a consistent, repeated offset. A single pass that looked off may have been a one-time GPS error and shouldn’t be saved as a correction.
  • The offset is one setting for the whole property, applied to every prescription export until you change or reset it.
